NFL Fantasy: Week 13 Waiver Wire Targets

Heading into Week 13, teams that haven't enjoyed their bye week will do just that. In saying that, this is the final week you may need to fill an empty spot vacated by players who's on a bye. Just like every other week, listed below are four players you should target this week.

Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

Taylor Gabriel, WR, Falcons - With Julio Jones being bottled up for most of the day by Patrick Peterson, Gabriel was able to build off his previous three games that saw him accumulate a stat line of 13/196/2 by putting up 5/75/2 on Sunday. Julio Jones is still undoubtedly the No 1 on the team but it seems that Gabriel has thrust himself into the No 2 slot behind him. Gabriel has averaged five receptions over the last three weeks so look for that trend to continue and possibly even increase over the coming weeks. He's most likely unowned in most leagues so put your claim in now. (Owned in 6% of Yahoo Leagues)

Malcolm Mitchell, WR, Patriots - Mitchell has been quite the revelation for the Patriots over the last couple weeks, he's totaled 12 receptions, 140 yards, and three touchdowns. Tom Brady has even gone on record as of late to lament his feelings about how well Mitchell has looked in practice and in games. With Mitchell paying at a high level down the stretch with a quarterback who's at the top of his game, he should be a player you need to claim right away and pencil him in your starting lineup. Wendell Smallwood, RB, Eagles - Ryan Matthews was ruled out for Monday's contest vs the Packers which thrust Wendall Smallwood into a bigger role. With a favorable match-up coming up this week vs the Bengals rush defense, Smallwood would be a good option once again if Matthews is unable to go or can only go at a limited basis. Colin Kaepernick, QB, 49er's - The Kaep is back!! Kaepernick has seemed to have found the magic in his game once again that made him one of the games most valuable fantasy quarterbacks in years past. There aren't many QB's that possess the arm strength and running ability the Kaep does. Both of those assets were on display this past Sunday as he totaled 296 yards and 3 TD's through the air, and 113 yards on the ground. Pencil him in to fill a QB spot who's on a bye or ride him down the stretch. (Owned in 24% of Yahoo Leagues)
