Jarrod West has committed to Marshall University

Jarrod West has always been a standout star on his team.  He has been a great leader for Notre Dame High and is excited to lead his team back to the state tournament in his final season.  He recently announced his commitment to Marshall University.  Last season, West averaged 25 ppg, 5 apg, 5 rpg, and 4 spg.

West has some high expectations heading into his Senior season at Notre Dame.  He wants to get 1st team all-state captain, Gatorade POY, and to win the state championship.  He wanted to win with West Virginia guys so he decided to stay in state and attend Marshall University.

When asked about his teams loss in the state tournament last year, West replied, "We were a good team but we under achieved."  West's father played basketball at West Virginia University.  We asked him about having a father who played at a major D-1 program like WVU and he said, "It's cool, but kind of ironic since I'm going to Marshall."  West is looking forward to getting to Marshall but he has a job to finish with Notre Dame.  He expects to provide some leadership and scoring for the Herd.  Jarrod West looks to be the future for Marshall basketball.
