The Florida Panthers are a Joke
Back to back QMJHL championships.
Memorial Cup Champion.
Led NHL team to Franchise Record season, including Division Championship.
Finalist to Coach of the Year (NHL) in 2015-16 season.
107-65-25 NHL coaching record.
Sitting 2 points out of a playoff spot, 22 games into the young NHL season.
Looking at the accomplishments of Gerard Gallant, many would believe he would considered as a successful hockey coach. Not the Florida Panthers upper management. Gerard Gallant has been relieved of his duties as Head Coach because of what is reported as a "disagreement of team direction with ownership."
Gerard Gallant had his contract extended last year. Was runner up for C of Y. Now he's fired and a bad coach ? Seriously?

Gerard Gallant is seen as a players coach. Players love him as he is more of a friend and guide, and less of an army sergeant. He is extremely respected around the league as one of the smartest hockey people in the world, and as a extremely abled NHL coach.
Florida ownership taking a beating privately around the hockey community. Gallant is a highly respected and well liked hockey man.

Not that it ultimately matters in terms of decision, but safe to say FLA players largely disappointed/unhappy at Gallant being fired.

This surprising move, has caused waves of anger around the hockey world. Many pointing fingers at a too involved ownership group, and a questionable management group.
You know I have loved the @FlaPanthers deep down for 20 years ! A lifetime ! But this killed it ! This is a complete joke. Wow.

It's fair to say the ownership and management have a lot of explaining to do. This is a team that has high expectations, however it is also a team that has missed 3 top 9 forwards (Jokinen, Bjugstad, Huberdeau) for extended periods of time.
As a long time Panthers fan, it's disgusting to see such an unbelievable move take place.
Gerard Gallant, congratulations on becoming the 1st Head Coach in Vegas Golden Knights history.
