Draymond Green is a problem

I'll admit it. I used to be a fan of Draymond Green. Whenever he was an underdog, and the Warriors were the surprise team that won over 60 games and the NBA championship, his attitude and leadership was admirable. From being doubted as a reliable NBA starter, Green became the key ingredient to the NBA's best team.

But by the end of this season, Green had me, an avid Lebron-hater, rooting for Cleveland. There are a lot of things I can tolerate. I can deal with getting rejected in the DM's. I find a way to survive when we are out of milk. I accepted Andy Samberg leaving SNL. It pissed me off, but I understood.

I cannot handle an arrogant person who thinks he is better than he actually is. I understand I will never be on the same athletic planet as Green, and he has likely accomplished more in the last two years than I ever will. But he turned into the league's dirtiest player this season, then acted like he didn't do anything and never admitted to his wrong-doings. If you want to be a tough guy, then admit to what you did.

Now, Green is just a punk. As the Warriors rose to stardom this season, winning an NBA record 73 regular season games, Green was known as their vocal leader. It was a role embraced by Green, and one in which he excelled. The guy is a great leader, and his teammates respond well to him.

That's why his continuous disrespect towards other is just downright disappointing. With the various cheap shots he laid on players in the Playoffs, Green let the stardom get to his head. From calling Lebron a "bi***" and kicking Steven Adams in the acorns twice, Green became the NBA's biggest a**hole. He's a Kevin Garnett wannabe and while KG is just as ruthless on the court, KG would never do what Green did on over the weekend in East Lansing.

The initial reports are disgusting. Apparently, Green bumped into Michigan State defensive back Jermaine Edmondson at a party, and Edmondson asked Green to say excuse me. Once Green heard this, he responded by saying "I pay for ni**as like you scholarships." Does Green not remember when he was just a college kid trying to make it?

Instead of apologizing, Green embarrassed the kid and proceeded to have two guys with him choke Edmondson out according to police reports. But, this is not it.

The following evening, Edmondson went out to dinner with a couple of friends for his birthday. They noticed Green was at the restaurant as well, and one of Edmondson's friends started talking to Green. At this point, Edmondson claims to have said "last night wasn't cool" to Green.

Upon hearing that, Green put his hand on Edmondson. Edmondson, obviously not a fan of contact, told Green to not put his hands on him and to just talk about the incident.

It was at this point that Green punched Edmondson in the face.

I understand that there are a lot of questionable statements in the police report, and it's obvious Edmondson was trying to make himself look victimized. I doubt Green went to the extent that Edmondson claimed.

However, the facts are the facts. Green punched Edmondson and embarrassed him in front of tons of people, and belittled him using his "status" and financial abilities.

Green should not have been hanging out at a college party in the first place, that's Bush League. Green has repeatedly overstepped his boundaries, and this time it caught up with him. Alcohol was an obvious factor, but it does not change the fact that Green has changed in the last year. He tries too hard to come off as an "old-school tough guy" when in reality, he is just a punk.

He clearly did not learn from his actions during the NBA playoffs that cost his team the championship. It's hard to imagine them losing game 5 in Oracle Arena if Green is able to play.

I guess if you can't punk out Lebron James, you can attempt to punk a college corner that many people had not heard of until this incident.
