Birds Of Flight

World Series bound?
Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

The Toronto Blue Jays acquiring David Price is a very exciting move, but it is also a very big risk. The team is seven games out of first place, however now they have a great team. Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reported the trade first. (Sports Illustrated) The Blue Jays now have a solid pitching rotation, and that is very important when the Playoffs arrive in September. "Price fortifies a Toronto starting pitching rotation that has a 4.50 collective ERA, which ranks fifth-worst among MLB teams." (Sports Illustrated)

I believe the Yankees should make a move now to improve their chances. If the Blue Jays can get on the same page they may end up in the World Series. I thought the Royals were the team to beat. However, the Royals still have Playoff experience and that is important to have under their belt.

The Tigers had to make this move, and it couldn't have been better timing. The Tigers most likely would have lost David Price in free agency.  "In exchange, the Tigers will receive three lefthanded minor league pitchers: Daniel Norris, Matt Boyd and Jairo Labourt. Norris was the Jays' second-round pick in 2011". (Sports Illustrated) The Tigers need pitching and this was a great move for them. The Tigers need Justin Verlander to be the player he once was. The Tigers could be a playoff team in the future if these prospects pan out. I will be interested to watch and see how the Tigers season plays out.
