The Rings Debate? The result may suprise you.

One of the greatest receptions of all time!

Do championships in sports really matter? The answer may be yes if your the fan of the team. However, I believe the answer is no. Take Mr. Brady and put him up against Mr. Manning. (Peyton) Peyton has only won one Super Bowl in his career while Tom Brady had won four.

Now what is the point that I am getting at? The team win the rings, while the players play. I know this sounds simple, or I am hating on the Patriots. However, I will give them credit and say while Deflategate hurts them, and that is because Spygate is in their past. Tom Brady and Joe Montana are praised for their rings. However, Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl ring in 2000 with the Ravens. The team won it, and they had a superior defense all around.

The Patriots defense was stacked when they won their three rings. The fourth that was their offense that pulled it out. Joe Montana he also had a great offense, and he also had a man by the name of Jerry Rice to through to. Heck, Eli in my last post debating if the Giants should resign him. He is the perfect analogy of a team winning the ring. Picture this David Tyree drops the ball, Eli never wins his first Super Bowl.

Sean Payton doesn't go for that onside kick at halftime. Peyton Manning holds his second Lombardi like a baby. He will be kissing that beautiful trophy, until his lips are numb.

Russell Wilson's first appearance his team won, and their defense dominated the whole game. His second appearance the coaches failed him, and he ignored handed off the ball to Lynch. Everyone was to blame in that debacle.

Even Colin Kaepernick could have a ring if he didn't throw that interception against the Ravens. Joe Flacco was relieved and he now as a Super Bowl ring. I believe rings are exciting, however they should not be why a player is great. That is the team's job, and hopefully that will be the new discussion. The Players should based off their stats, and I know fantasy football, basketball, and baseball lovers will enjoy this.

Let me know what you think what do you define when you debate players?
