Fantasy: NFL DFS Draftkings Tournament Plays Week 3

Welcome to all my DraftKings players. Every week I will be picking players that I believe will help you win some money. Check out DraftCrunch.com to get all your help in building your lineup and see the projections. They are all about transparency and bridging the gap between the 99% and the 1%.

In this post I will be giving you players that are counters to normal thinking and should be low-owned in tournament plays. All these projections are through DraftCrunch.com.

Toddy Gurley ($7100)

Gurley has been mediocre the first two weeks due to a poor offense that he plays in. He still has gotten 38 touches through two weeks. This week he will be playing against the average Bucs defense. The Bucs were just shredded by the Cardinals and a lot of the damage was on the ground. This week is a nice chance to play Gurley and bank on him to go off. He is getting the touches, its all about converting them. Many players will shy away from him because of his early struggles.

Odell Beckham Jr. ($9100)

Another player that will be lowly owned because of the match-up. The Redskins plan to use Norman to shadow Beckham. But in Norman's career, he has never been a shadow corner, he has always played on one side of the field. This a match-up that can be exploited. Beckham is too talented to be contained and will be motivated to score on Norman.

Cam Newton ($7800)

Newton was terrific last week. He will be playing the Vikings, who just shutdown the Packers offense. That will shy people away from Newton plus with other excellent match-ups, his ownership should be low. With Stewart out with an injury, the offense becomes more about Newton. He should be getting more rushing attempts and more passing opportunities. The usage is going to be high for Newton this week.

Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

Devonta Freeman ($5800)

His price has plummeted all the way down to $5800. At this price he becomes a sneaky play in tournaments. He got 17 touches last week and has averaged 16 through the first two weeks. He has yet to score a TD but this is the week to do it. With the Saints and Falcons playing in one of the highest games of the weekend, many players will be owned from this game. Most people will overlook Freeman and he will be a nice counter in that game. The Saints have a poor defense in general, I expect Freeman to score a TD this week and that is all you need plus the 16 touches for him to be a steal this week.
