A Canadian Speed Bump

A weekend showdown with a Canadian Rival, New York City FC has dug itself a huge hole it will need to climb out of Sebastian Giovinco, with the snub of the year on the MVP front, will surely be smelling blood in the water. Toronto FC with their dynamic duo up top and a workhorse distributor in the middle, Michael Bradley, will be looking to end all our hopes of a title.

Not all hope is lost yet though, as the home supporters will be out in full force cheering with all our hearts hoping they don’t get ripped apart. The team on the field will surely fight to the death in order to get a result, but have a treacherous road ahead. This test will surely be one to remember if they are to make a Championship run.

As for our team, it looks like Patrick Vieira's tinkering might be the reason the team is in such a hole. With a back line that is only mediocre protected by the goal scoring prowess of David Villa, you can say that making changes to a goal tender and reshuffling of a defense was not such a smart move. The move to change Josh Saunders was something that should have happened a long time ago, but to go as defensive as he did, Toronto FC finally broke down a bad plan of action by NYCFC.

The hope for this Sunday’s homecoming will be one that see’s our knight and shining armor (Villa) come to our rescue once again. NYCFC’s strengths in the offensive third will need to shine with the likes of Villa, Steven Mendoza, Jack Harrison, Frank Lampard, and Khiry Shelton coming in to pounce on that goal for us to move into the next phase of this Championship opportunity. This is no time to slow down for a speed bump, it’s time to fly right thru it.
