Baseball is a game of numbers. It’s always been a game of numbers. Not only that, but it’s also a VERY streaky game. Many hot streaks, many slumps. When you look more into it, you can almost predict who’s going to be hot and who’s going to be cold. Of course there are many more factors that play into it, but it’s good to keep an eye on the streaks of the game when it comes to wagering your own money on a team or a player and that’s why we’re here.
Over the past couple of years, we’ve been studying baseball statistics on the daily. Learning and understanding more about the game everyday. Eventually we started wagering our own money in order to try and make a profit. Whether that being through sportsbook websites or fantasy websites. When it comes to gambling, the odds are always against you. At least that’s what most people say. Not us. We strongly believe that it is possible to overcome the odds, and have proven to do so progressively. It’s all about timing and understanding when and who to put your money on.
With that being said, we are here to help you make money through Fantasy Baseball websites (DraftKings, FanDuel, etc…). Everyday we will be sharing with you key players to look out for when making your lineup. These players will be known as our “Key Player Pick”, who is what we consider to be the best pick possible and is almost a must have in your lineup. The other player will be known as the “Value Player Pick”, which of course, is the player who we think is good the right price.
Anyhow, let’s jump right into things...
***Key Player Pick***
Giancarlo Stanton - OF - $4900
We are all familiar with his power as he led the majors in HRs last year. He got off to a slow start this season but he has seemed to found a little bit of himself. He has an extremely favourable matchup tonight against Pomeranz who has struggled ever since being traded to the Red Sox. We think, being the cleanup hitter, he will have many opportunities to do some real damage tonight.
***Value Player Pick****
Ivan Nova - SP - $6400
Although Nova has always been a decent pitcher, we are purely picking him based on his matchup. He is facing the horrendous White Sox who are even more horrendous at home (3-13). At $6.400, we believe his strikeout abilities will be they key in making him a valuable pick. It’s almost a no-brain because of how many opportunities it can create for the rest of your lineup.
Notable Mentions
Gary Sanchez - C - $4500
Similar to Stanton, he is a power machine with a great matchup tonight. He is batting better against lefties this season (.280 opposed to .176) and is 7-18 with 3 HRs in his career against Pomeranz. We all know what the guy is capable of.
Mike Trout - OF - $6300
Paying $6.300 for an outfielder almost seems a little ridiculous. But on the other hand, we’re talking about the best player in baseball. With a hot bat over his past ten games, playing in a hitters ballpark (vs. Rockies) should boost his chances of over exceeding expectations for tonight. He should continue to dominate on the road (.373 this season) as he is not facing a tough pitcher in Gray.
