Week 13's Studs and Duds

Thursday:

The Vikings have a top 5 defense, but it could do nothing to stop another 100 combined yard performance by Zeke to go along with a TD. Sam Bradford is the underneath king as he failed to convert any of his long balls.

Takeaways: Dez Bryant is heating up and now has at least 72 yards in the past three games. Dak and Dez seem to have a connection now, which I see continuing for for the foreseeable future. And if you want to stick with Diggs as your WR2, I’m fine with it, just know everything depends how many intermediate targets he gets.

Sunday:

You probably didn’t start Joe Flacco, but know he is capable of putting up 300 yard games. Jordan Howard took advantage of a favorable matchup and roasted the 49ers for a hat trick and 117 yards. Melvin Gordon continued his TD consistency and Golden Tate is riding Matt Stafford’s hot streak for 145 yards and a score. But surprisingly, Drew Brees didn’t have a Drew Brees game, who was held without a score. And Todd Gurley? Blame Jeff Fisher. Buffalo decides to keep their star RB from scoring. Great.

Takeaways: I don’t have to mention beasts, like David Johnson, anymore. You know what they offer already. Be patient with Julio Jones. He’s cooled down a bit, but Matt Ryan will find him.

Monday:

The Jets are just pitiful. All that money for a QB that throws more interceptions than TDs. It wastes the talents of Matt Forte and Brandon Marshall. On the other hand, Andrew Luck is back into form after tossing 4 TDs and allowing his skilled players to feast in a 41-10 victory.

Takeaways: You probably didn’t start Dwayne Allen, but he could turn into a replacement option for those who lost Gronk. Ty Hilton should continue to eat up yardage (146 yards) and Donte Moncrief isn’t a bad investment either. With Bryce Petty set to start the last four games, don’t bother with the Jets’ offense.
