TNA's creative changes vital in companies fight for survival

TNA are set to unveil some creative changes to the company that could become a vital component to the companies survival. After the recent departures from the company of Billy Corgan and Davie Lagana a conference call was held with talent by Dixie Carter and other TNA officials on Tuesday.

Dixie Carter had informed the TNA roster of the departure of Billy Corgan, and the resignation of David Lagana who both departed last week from the company. The conference call also touched on TNA’s creative changes as well as the creative team being a collaborative effort with John Gaburick, Matt Conway and Madison Rayne.

TNA will be looking to hire more writers to work with creative, and start to make the needed changes going forward to help keep the company alive. Also discussed was TNA looking at getting back to running live events and also strengthening their relationship in India with TV Partner Sony Six.

There is also an idea for TNA to start an over-the-top streaming network featuring TNA content, which would most likely be the same kind of service as the NFL Network and WWE Network going forward.

TNA needs to start to work on strengthening their relationship with their fans, and start to look outside of Florida for their fans as well. While TNA has built a strong fanbase in Orlando they need to begin traveling further and getting more people onto watching TNA.

TNA’s last venture outside of Florida around the United States was a complete failure, simply because TNA failed to do the proper promoting to get them noticed in the areas they were running shows. TNA would go onto make some massive cutbacks which then saw them lose some prime talent including AJ Styles, Sting, and a few other along the way.

TNA also needs to look at building new broadcast partners to get TNA content on more screens even though TNA boasts that they are broadcasting into 130 different countries. There is still a lot to be done to make sure they are put onto the best timeslots as well. After losing the Challenge TV deal TNA have been working to resolve the issue to get back onto UK screens.

The United Kingdom was a popular market for the company until earlier in the year when their ratings nosedived and the network decided to part ways with the company. TNA also last year lost it’s TV deal in Australia when the now defunct Fuel TV decided to no longer show it, Impact moved to the PPV channel Main Event before Foxtel stopped showing it altogether. Prior to this Fox8 was showing TNA, even showing the weekly PPV’s back when it was NWA-TNA.

Free to Air Channel One HD carried Explosion before the network had an overhaul during a crisis of losing money and Jamie Packer buying stock in Ten Network. TNA started off with some good ratings in Australia before the sudden drop, now many Australian fans are calling out for TNA to return.

TNA has made some big inroads in the last month with some creative changes some new storylines, which has seen the Broken Matt Hardy angle become one of the most talked about and praised angles in professional wrestling right now.

There was some talks of TNA doing an entire episode of Impact Wrestling at the Hardy compound but due to budget issues that idea was put on the backburner. Perhaps with TNA’s new financial direction they could afford to take a chance on BROKEN Impact.

TNA will need some good months ahead to steady the ship, and become a stable company again some strong storylines will surely bring more success to TNA. With this new direction and possibly a streaming service TNA could start to rebuild some relationships with the fans and start to bring in money to try new things.

TNA needs to repair their brand after so many things have been messed up, the tarnished brand needs a new paint job to make the company look more appealing to TV Networks, fans, and also potential sponsors to get involved with the company. A new brand would also make other wrestlers more likely to want to come and work for TNA, and would make it easier to book arenas elsewhere to start making more money away from the current Impact Zone.

The next few months could be very critical for the survival of TNA which an investor now in place there should be better business decisions made to make TNA better again and start to claw back some ground it has lost over the past few years.

A lot of fans are hoping that this could be the start of something good for TNA, after a run of bad decisions, bad press and just bad ideas everywhere that has done a lot of damage to the TNA brand.
