Darrell Hazell out at Purdue
On Sunday, Purdue University fired football head coach Darrell Hazell. In three-plus seasons, Hazell had compiled a 9-33 record. So far on the season, Purdue is 3-3.
On Saturday, the Iowa Hawkeyes knocked off the Purdue Boilermakers 49-35. Following the loss to Iowa, Hazell's record dropped to 3-24 in Big Ten play. In his time at Purdue, Hazell had never won more than 3 games in a season. Purdue's last winning season came in 2011 under head coach Danny Hope. In 2011, the Boilermakers went 7-6 and took home a 37-32 win in the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl over Western Michigan.
Athletic Director Mike Bobinski had nothing but great things to say about Darrell Hazell.
Darrell Hazell is a first class and quality, quality person. We're here not for a lack of effort. We certainly respect him. -Bobinski
