NWHL All-Star Weekend 2019
The NWHL is the youngest of all professional hockey leagues for women. This year's All-Star Weekend will take place in Nashville. It will feature the stars of women's hockey which includes many members of the 2018 USA women's Olympic hockey team which won gold. Then there will be Shannon Szabados of the Buffalo Beauts and many more as well.
What these women's all-star tournaments do for women's hockey is create much needed exposure for the game. If it is not a year for the winter Olympics, the general public seems to forget that women's hockey exists! The exposure for these athletes will help bring in sponsorships which will benefit the athletes and the league because professional women's hockey pays only a small fraction of what the men make in the NHL and KHL.
The all-star weekends can open the doors for expansion opportunities for the league as well with the exposure that it receives on social media during the weekend. Growth is exactly what this young league needs.
