5 Takes On Cavs-Celtics Opener

First of all I want to say that I hope Hayward gets better soon. I was so excited to see this team gel and see Kyrie and Gordon work together. Second of all, I just want to say that the Cavs cannot rebound. That was the only bad thing I could pull away from the opening game. That being said, let's get to some takes.

CAVS REBOUNDING

The Cavs NEED to improve their rebounding. I mean they almost lost to a one star team, with a bunch on young guys because... they couldn't rebound. There is no excuse, Love can rebound, LeBron can rebound and Crowder needs to step it up, otherwise, Tristan Thompson will.

CHAMPIONSHIP NO MORE

The Celtics are a 5 seed at best without Hayward. My guess is that they actually finish 5th behind Toronto, Washington, Milwaukee. The Celtics are better than the Hornets, but only by 2 games. This injury blows, but they have the young talent to challenge the Bucks, or the Wizards (depending health). I guess New England will have to wait until next year for a chance to bring home the championship trophy.

IT'S KYRIE'S TEAM NOW, LITERALLY

Kyrie wanted to be the man. Kyrie wanted to be the leader of a team. Kyrie wanted to bring a championship to somewhere without LeBron. Well now is his chance. Kyrie is the lone, somewhat, superstar on this team (Al Horford is good, but he's not a superstar) and it's his chance to show the world his talent. And if he can't capitalize the Celtics regular season, will he be a bust? Probably not, the Celtics just don't have as much talent right now. It's going to be interesting how Kyrie will handle this situation.

D ROSE IS BACK

Derrick Rose had an amazing night. Rose actually looked good playing basketball. This is a good sign not only for the Cavs, but for Derrick Rose himself. Let's hope Cleveland's top notch trainers and doctors can keep him healthy all season because this is just awesome.

CAVS ARE NOW THE CLEAR FAVORITES IN THE EAST

Now that Hayward is out for the rest of the season, I'm guessing. The Cavs should win the East with no troubles. Cleveland was nowhere near the level they can be playing, as said so by LeBron. This team is seriously deep. Jeff Green is probably the second best player in the NBA right now (ha ha, that was sarcasm), D-Rose is back, the defense looked a lot better than it did last year, and Wade is not washed up. With all that being said, the Cavs are a serious threat to knock off Golden State, give it a couple months to gel, and this team will be scary. Cavs in 6.
