BLOG POST #1 FOR VIC3400 WITH PROFESSOR ELIO

After signing a five-year contract to coach FIU football, newly hired Head Coach Butch Davis expressed how enthusiastic he was about his decision.

“I can’t tell you how excited I am to be the head coach at FIU,” Davis said. “I love this opportunity. I am grateful to be here.”

Davis compiled a 50-21 record during his time at the University of Miami coaching some of the south Florida’s most prominent talent during the early 2000's Clinton Portis, Edgerrin James and Reggie Wayne.

Now at FIU, who's football program has an all-time record of 52-112 and has only appeared in only two bowl games since 2002, Davis has his work cut out for him.

One positive thing going for the new ball coach is his ability to recruit south Florida talent he recently said, “Were going to get some of those [players] and we just have to draw a fence and keep local kids and make them passionate that they want to be a part of this program.”

Things are already looking up for the program with 9 of the 13 recruits currently residing in Broward and Miami Dade county. Expect a huge turnaround this season.
