NFL Week 17 Game Picks

Week 16 brought as some fun. We saw Dontari Poe, 346-pound D-Lineman, throw a touchdown pass, and, even more surprisingly, the Browns actually won a football game. As for the playoff race, many more slots were filled, leaving just 2 available. Now as for me, I went just 8-8, making me 136-104 on the year. Now let's get started with the final week of the regular season.

Ravens over Bengals

The Ravens have been the better team all year long, and even though their playoff hopes have gone, this is still a game they really want to win.

Texans over Titans

If it weren't for Mariota's injury, I would pick the Titans. The Titans have impressed me greatly this season, but I just don't think they are the same team with Mariota.

Buccaneers over Panthers

The Buccaneers have a slim chance at making the playoffs. In fact, they need 8 different things to happen, including a tie, to do so. But if the Bucs want any chance at making it they have to win, and that should happen.

Colts over Jaguars

The Colts have been far from good or consistent this year, but...it's the Jaguars.

Patriots over Dolphins

The Patriots don't have anything riding on this game, so they will probably rest their starters, right? Well, maybe not. It appears that Belichick doesn't have much interest in sitting his best players this week. If he in fact doesn't, they should easily win this game.

Bears over Vikings

Although the Bears have been bad, especially last week, I think they have actually looked better than the Vikings. The Vikings started out great, but since week 7, they have played poorly. The Bears have actually done fairly well against some good teams. This is also Barkley's last chance to prove why he deserves a starting job, and I think that will determine him to play to the best of his abilities.

Bills over Jets

The Bills just fired Rex Ryan, so you would think that that would make them worse. However, you would've thought the same thing when they fired their Offensive Coordinator too, but that only made them better. Yes, I know that isn't really a logical argument, but sometimes logic fails you.

Eagles over Cowboys

There is a good chance the Cowboys will be resting starters. Even if they don't, I think the Eagles have a decent shot at winning. Last time they played each other, it was a one-score game, and this time it is in Philly.

Steelers over Browns

The Steelers my also rest starters, but does that really matter? The Browns were able to win last week, but it would take an extra special miracle to win 2 in a row.

Falcons over Saints

These 2 teams are incredibly similar in play style, but the Falcons are just a bit better. They both have great offenses, but the Falcons' is more well-rounded. Both defense are bad, but the Saints' is worse.

Redskins over Giants

The Giants do seem to be the better team, but the Redskins have more to play for. The Giants are guaranteed a wild card spot, which means they don't really benefit from a win and may even rest their starters. The Redskins are in with a win, assuming the Packer and Lions don't tie. If they really do deserve to be in the playoffs, they will win.

Cardinals over Rams

Neither of these teams have been good at all, but the Cardinals have clearly been better. It would seem the one advantage the Rams would have is the home field, but apparently that isn't an advantage for them. Only 1 of the Rams' 4 wins has come at home.

Broncos over Raiders

The Raiders are nothing without Derek Carr. I very strongly believe that he should win MVP because he has made a team with a bad defense, mediocre Running Back, and mediocre Receiving corps into a top notch football team. I think just about any team can feel comfortable playing the Raiders when he is missing.

Chiefs over Chargers

The Chiefs are one of the league's best teams. I would only consider the Patriots to be better. The Chargers...well, they just lost to the Browns.

Seahawks over 49ers

Packers over Lions

It doesn't get much better than this. The winner wins the division, while the loser will miss entirely if the Redskins win earlier in the day. The Lions have found ways to win late in game all year long, but in recent weeks the Packers have looked better than most. This game could likely come down to the final drive. In the end, the Packers are the hot team, and that's why my money is on them.
