Top 10 Christmas Gifts to Get the Sports Fanatic
With the holiday season now in full effect, I thought I'd take a different approach with this blog today. I present the top 10 gifts in my opinion you could give a sports fanatic. This to help the non-sports fan on great ideas to get their loved ones for Christmas.
10. ANY KNICK KNACK ITEMS WILL DO!
Never think that a sports gift that is very small is a bad gift. If it has the fan's favorite sports team on it, that person will be very appreciative towards whatever you give them. So don't be afraid to give that person a bobblehead doll, garden gnome, toothbrush or even a key chain. The fan will be happy that it says their team on it. Just make sure if it's for a guy it doesn't look too girly.
9. SNEAKERS
Any athletic sneakers are a big part of what a sports fan wants. This one is really popular with the basketball fans, although fans of other sports appreciate this gift as well. Nothing says Merry Christmas to opening up a box with a pair of Jordans in them.
8. CAPS/WOOL HATS
Caps are a great gift for a sports fan. Two things that make a cap feel special for a sports fan. One, caps make a fan show support for their favorite team. Two, wearing the cap makes the fan feel like they are a part of that team. For the colder months, a wool hat or beanie will work too.
7. GOLF EQUIPMENT
Be careful with this one. This is a great gift. However, not everyone is a golfer. Also if they are a golfer, a lot of the equipment is very personalized to the golfer. The good news is that getting a set of Titleist AP1s on Christmas morning, as long as they're fitted to that golfer, will make the golfer's eye light up. Just know your party and what they play.
6. SPORTS EQUIPMENT (BASKETBALLS, FOOTBALLS BASEBALLS, BATS, GLOVES)
These are great items for younger sports fanatics. A lot of kids love going out in the street of their local park to play a game of basketball, football or baseball at a baseball diamond. However, never let it deter you on what the age of a person is. I'm 35 and I would love to go out and play a game of basketball.
5. AUTOGRAPHED MEMORABILIA
Fans love having a piece of sports equipment, caps or jerseys signed by one of their favorite players. This gift for guys is comparable to a girl showing off a diamond ring to her friends. It's very special and symbolic to a sport's fan to have a signed baseball of their favorite player.
4. VINTAGE MEMORABILIA
Lots of sports fans love getting the nostalgic items. In a day and age when lots of fans could be labeled as bandwagoners/frontrunners, an old-school version of a team logo shows that this person is a true fan of their team. Also, the old-school feel always gives a sports fan a reason to look into their team's history.
3. SPORTS JERSEYS OF A FAVORITE PLAYER
This one is like the cap. Fans wearing a jersey feel like they are a part of that team and are showing their support. However, most jerseys have a player's name on the back. Fans love having their star player's name on the back of their jersey to show that they also support that player and their accomplishments.
2. PERSONALIZED JERSEYS
This one is exactly like #3. However, there is more of a feel of belonging to the team with this one. A jersey with the person you're getting the gift for will make them feel special. That fan will now feel like they are on the team because of the jersey they have.
1. Tickets To A Game/Games
You can never go wrong with this one for a sports fan. There's nothing like going to a game for any sports fan. The atmosphere of being there live makes you feel like you're a part of the game. Whether the fan cheers for their team or boos the opponent, they feel like they are playing a role in the game. Depending on how much you really like the person who is the sports fanatic, you can throw in season tickets for that sports fanatic and that fan will love you forever.
So there you go. Now go out and get that sports fan in your life what they want. They will appreciate the gift you get them. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone out there.
