Top Second Inning: The Yankees extended their lead to 2-0 on a solo home run from Didi Gregorius.

Bottom Second Inning: Reds tie the game with a bases loaded two RBI single from Billy Hamilton. Joey Votto gives the Reds the lead with a two RBI single. The next batter, Adam Duvall, ripped a base hit to left field to score another run and make it 5-2.

Top Third Inning: Despite giving up a leadoff walk, Adleman induces a double play and a ground out to send this contest to the bottom half of the frame.

Bottom Third Inning: Reds are shut down 1-2-3.

Top Fourth Inning: The Bronx Bombers score on a bloop single to cut their deficit to 5-3.

Bottom Fourth Inning: Reds go down in order as their offense is held at bay.

Top Fifth Inning: Adleman gives up a hit, but strikes out the side.

Top Sixth Inning: Michael Lorenzen comes into the game to relieve Adleman. Yankees threaten with a bases loaded situation, but cannot score.

Bottom Sixth Inning: Reds try to get their offense going, but they are snuffed out.

Top Seventh Inning: Yankees get a runner in scoring position, but cannot plate a run.

Bottom Seventh Inning: Dellin Betances comes into the game to relieve Yankees starter C.C. Sabathia after Sabathia was pinch hit for in the top of the seventh. Aaron Hicks remains in the game at left field after pinch hitting for Sabathia. Betances walks the first two batters of the inning, but then strikes out the next three to end the seventh.

Top Eighth Inning: Raisel Iglesias comes into the game to relieve Lorenzen. Patrick Kivlehan comes into the game defensively (in a double switch) and replaces Schebler in right field. Iglesias throws a scoreless inning to send this to the bottom half of the frame.

Bottom Eighth Inning: Chad Green comes into the game to relieve Betances. In a double switch, Matt Holliday comes into the game defensively to replace Chris Carter at first base. Green does not allow the Reds to score any runs here.

Top Ninth Inning: Despite allowing two runners on, Iglesias manages to get Sanchez to lineout into a double play and the game is a final.
