WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs 2016 Predictions

December has come again, which means that WWE's version of the Demolition Derby is set to take off for the Smackdown Live brand. This is the show where WWE superstars risk their bodies and fall off of ladders solely because the show's called TLC and they have to.

With that said, here are my predictions for the Smackdown brand-exclusive event:

WWE World Champion AJ Styles vs. Dean Ambrose in a TLC match: This is set to be the best match of the night because of the men involved. While I wouldn't be overly shocked to see WWE flip flop the championship over to Ambrose to shake things up before WrestleMania time, I don't expect that to happen. I see WWE building towards Undertaker vs. AJ Styles for the title at the Royal Rumble event, so Styles will retain his title in one hell of a match. Also, don't look for James Ellsworth to play a role due to his injuries sustained last Tuesday.

WWE SmackDown Women's Champion Becky Lynch vs. Alexa Bliss in a Tables match: The key to this match is that all it takes for Becky to lose her title is to crash through a table. WWE has used Tables matches in past years to dethrone a champion without making them look weak, most notably in 2009 when Sheamus defeated John Cena for the WWE Championship. However, I don't believe history will be repeated tomorrow night. While I wouldn't be surprised to see WWE give the belt to Bliss, Becky is the more established wrestler and it is too early to take the title off of her already. Becky Lynch will retain her title.

WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz vs. Dolph Ziggler in a Ladder match: This is my toughest prediction of the night, because I could see it going either way. On one hand, Miz is a stronger long-term Intercontinental Champion than Dolph Ziggler, as Ziggler's recent one month reign was uneventful and boring. On the other hand, this is the end of a very long and well told story and Ziggler winning would be a more satisfying conclusion. If Miz wins, it would take away any credibility Ziggler has gained just to lose it all in the end. So on that note, I'm going with Dolph Ziggler to regain the Intercontinental Championship.

WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions Heath Slater and Rhyno vs. Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt:  This is a very interesting matchup, with the result being solely dependent on how long WWE is planning on stretching out the Wyatt-Orton storyline. I still think the endgame is Orton breaking up the Wyatts from within after turning Luke Harper against Bray, but it's way too early to do it tomorrow night. For now, WWE is going all the way with the odd pairing of Orton and Wyatt by having them prevail. Orton and Wyatt will convincingly defeat Rhyno and Slater to capture the tag titles.

Nikki Bella vs. Carmella in a No Disqualification match: Nikki is the most established star of the Smackdown women's division, and ultimately the woman WWE will protect most. While it would give Carmella a huge boost to defeat Nikki here, it most likely isn't going to happen. Nikki Bella will defeat Carmella in convincing fashion.

Kalisto vs. Baron Corbin in a Chairs match: Corbin has really shined as a character since his candid appearances on Talking Smack, while Kalisto hasn't really done anything warranting a push. Corbin will win here.
