A storm from the north is coming for Lakota Nation supremacy

Can't help but to be getting revved up for the ladies getting ready to ball up at Lakota Nation. Little Wound had such a great run last year and they bring a deep and experienced squad to the tournament as the No. 2 seed.

While the Mustangs are looming, there will be a presence felt from those Region 6 teams coming down to tangle. Jess Mendoza's Cheyenne Eagle Butte, Lady Braves, are the No. 1 seed and we've all seen what Donna Taken Alive has done with the McLaughlin program, taking the team to the B tournament in 2015 and the A tournament in 2016.

The north will be a tough out at LNI.

Another Region 6A team, Crow Creek brings an interesting mix with some young guns into Wednesday's opener with, fellow north-star, Mclaughlin. The girls have taken their lumps but worked their tails off to get better.

Haylee Langdeau, Joanna Fallis and Kaylee Wells are all freshman, but have a lot of varsity experience. Langdeau has been starting since her 7th grade year, Fallis since 8th grade. Wells transfered from Lyman and started her 8th grade year.

Ahhhh, a couple of guards and big gal patrolling the middle....Call it a good start!

"It's very exciting. And awesome to see the improvement in haylee and kaylee from the dedication with workouts in the summer with my husband and 2 sons working them out in the gym, weight room... the dedication by those 2 was beyond great. Along with the CC boys bb..." said a Crow Creek supporter.

The Langdeau family has some ties to Mission as Roseanna Langdeau went to high school here for a minute and speaks fondly of Coach Cal Medhaug....Be an interesting Crow Creek vs. Todd County rivalry here soon. Seems like the Langdeau family has some relation here and some of the girls from TC and CC have teamed up to win some big tournaments.

Like it, bring on some girls basketball.....
