Lower Brule's JayShawn Milton - 1 to watch at 2017 Lakota Nation

By Rich Winter

Was taking a peek at the Lakota Nation games on day one and one of games I'm already drooling over is the Todd County vs. Lower Brule game. Of course I'll be pulling for my Falcon blue, BUT, one of the guys I want to get a look at is Lower Brule senior, JayShawn Milton.

This young man is a leaper and a STATE CHAMPION in the high jump for Lower Brule. First meet of the year, Milton made like 5-foot-9, but, by the end of the season he was up and over 6-foot-7 to claim the Class B state title.

Visited with Lower Brule football and track coach Zeke Prado earlier this year and Milton is not just a great jumper, he's also a great student.

I might get this wrong but his ACT score, as reported this fall is like 28 or 30 and the young man has great GPA and has some offers pouring in. I believe the University of South Dakota came to Lower Brule for a visit. Milton is a heck of an athlete but has really paid attention to his class-work and seems to have set himself up for college.

A lot of shining stars at Lakota Nation....JayShawn Milton is one of them!!~
