Adrian Peterson to the Saints?

Adrian Peterson has agreed to a deal with the New Orleans Saints and many are wondering why. Why would a future Hall of Fame running back join a team that has a small chance of winning a Super Bowl, when he himself has never won one?

The Saints have holes to fill on both sides of the ball and one of their major concerns wasn't the ability to run the football. They were 16th last year in rushing and with Drew Brees under center they will continue to be a pass heavy team. Having the second worst scoring defense usually means you are in shootouts which means the running game is put on the back burner.

Maybe the market for Peterson wasn't as great as expected and he signed with the team that made him the best offer. Maybe Sean Peyton is just a great recruiter and sees something in a 32 year old running back that has a history of knee issues. It will interested to see how Peterson is used in the Saints offense and how he reacts to not being the "bell cow".
