Indians open the season with Sweep of the Rangers.

MLB: Cleveland Indians at Texas Rangers

Hello Everybody, The Cleveland Indians have opened the 2017 MLB season with a sweep of the Texas Rangers. The Indians beat the Rangers 9-6. But I will say this now and this goes to all Indians Fans, You Better Thank Francisco Lindor  because he hit the GRAND SLAM that eventually gave the Indians their First Sweep of the Season.

The Indians had some stars of the game. But the Pitching did have some struggles all night.

Francisco Lindor, The hero with the Grand Slam. He went 3-4 with3 runs and 5 RBI'S that Does Include the GRAND SLAM in the ninth.

Yandy Diaz had a great night himself, He went 2-4 with 2 runs and 2 RBI's

Carols Santana, he went 1-4 with 2 runs and 1 RBI.

Now as far as the pitching for the Indians is concerned. It was a so-so night.

Danny Salazar did have 9 strikeouts in 5.2 innings pitched, But he did give up 5 hits, 5 runs, 4 earned runs and he did walk 4 batters.

It was Danny Shaw who got the save for the Indians in the end.

Now as far as the Texas Rangers the Pitching had a Bumpy Ride all night. But they did have some stars of the game.

Nomar Mazara , he went 3-4 with 1 run and 3 RBI's.

Elvis Andrus, He went 2-4 with 1 run and 1 RBI.

The Pitching did have a Bumpy Ride on Wednesday Night.

Cole Hamels went 6 innings and did have 4 strikeouts, But he did give up 5 hits, 4 runs, 3 earned runs, he did walk 1 batter and he gave up a Home Run.

But in the end it would be Sam Dyson who would get the blame for what happened in the ninth. He was the pitcher that gave up the Grand Slam to Francisco Lindor. He would get the loss for the Rangers.

The Rangers are now 0-3 for the first time since 2007. The Season has started off bad for the Defending AL west champions. They have no Idea what's going on. But it was starting Pitcher Cole Hamels that Said it Best.

" We knew we would have some trouble because we knew we were facing the American League Champions and we knew we had a battle last night. But there's no excuse for getting swept in our own ballpark to open the season. We are now in the hole and we have got to get out now or it's going to be a long season."

The Indians are on Cloud 9 today after they got the sweep of the Rangers to start the season. Indians Manager Terry Franconia that said it best about the Indians after Wednesday's win.

" Oh Man was that A GRAND SLAM or what. I am so proud of these guys at the way we bounced back after having the battle that we did. We won the game and we got a Big Sweep to open the season. But we have a very long way to go. We have the Arizona Diamondbacks coming up and we have to go further west before we can have our home opener. But this is a excellent start for us.

The Indians are now off to a 3-0 start for the first time since 1998. Here's my take. The Indians are off to a 3-0 for the first time in 20 years. And they are a team to take seriously. The Indians had to battle back to win on Wednesday Night. And what a win it was. The was one Disappointment However for Francisco Lindor, The Grand Slam he hit wasn't a walk off to end the game. Could you imagine if that was hit in Cleveland, Oh My everybody would have offered to by Lindor a cold one at the Thirsty Parrott right across for Progressive Field in Cleveland.

In closing I will say this on a serious note. The Indians are now 3-0, However I will say this, they have a very long season ahead of them and we will see how the season goes along and then and only then I will make a Postseason Prediction. But this Sweep is very excellent start for the Indians but it's only the beginning. They Do have a Long Way to go in a long season ahead of them.
