Premier League Headlines: Round 4.

I don't think its a bad start. It's a very bad start.

The words of West Ham manager, Manuel Pellegrini; coming off an 1-0 loss to Wolverhampton. The Hammers find themselves firmly in last place with four losses in four matches. They opened up the wallet this summer, but it appears they are headed for another relegation scrap.

Four weekends of Premier League matches are already in the books. The first international break of the season is upon us. Here are the five headlines that describe this past weekend and some other odds and ends.

Gunners make it two in a row.

Arsenal's Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are becoming a potent tandem as they both scored second half goals in Arsenal's 3-2 victory over Cardiff City. Shkodran Mustafi got Arsenal running with an 11th minute header. Cardiff's Victor Camarasa tied it up just before the halftime whistle for Cardiff's first goal of the season. Camarasa picked off the ball, shook off Nacho Monreal and blasted the roof of the net.

Aubameyang put Arsenal back ahead with a 62nd minute curler. Danny Ward tied the game back up eight minutes later with a header. Lacazette put in the game winner in the 81st minute.

Arsenal still needs help with their shaky back four. A healthy Laurent Koscielny would help. Goalkeeper, Petr Cech is having problems at clearances. Cardiff's Harry Arter missed a golden opportunity as he sailed a shot over the crossbar after picking off Cech.

Both clubs have road games after the break on Saturday, September 15th. Arsenal goes to Newcastle and Cardiff visits an unbeaten Chelsea.

United bounces back against Burnley.

Romelu Lukaku scored two goals to lead Manchester United to a 2-0 win over Burnley. Paul Pogba missed a penalty kick midway through the second half when Aaron Lennon fouled Marcus Rashford. A couple of minutes later, Rashford was sent off by headbutting Phil Bardsley in what Manchester United boss, Jose Mourinho called Rashford 'a naive boy'. This is the tenth Manchester United clean sheet at Turf Moor in their past 11 trips.

Burnley doesn't have the Europa League to worry about anymore. They dropped out, losing to Olympiakos. Burnley was last year's Cinderella story, but only has one point in four matches so far.

Burnley tries to gather some points starting with a trip to Wolverhampton on September 16th. Manchester United visits this year's surprise club, Watford on September 15th.

Chelsea remains unblemished.

I'm very happy with 12 points in 4 matches. But I always think we can do more. We can improve.

That was Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri's comments after Chelsea defeated a gritty Bournemouth, 2-0. Chelsea trails Liverpool in goal differential in second place.

They are mastering the art of pulling games out late as Pedro tallied his third goal of the season in the 72nd minute and Eden Hazard got his second goal in the 85th minute. Chelsea defeated Newcastle just before stoppage time and topped Arsenal last week in the 81st minute. Marcus Alonso had two big chances as he hit the post and a great save was made by the Cherries goalkeeper, Asmir Begovic. Bournemouth also missed on a couple of good chances as Nathan Ake missed inside the box and a Callum Wilson chance.

This was Bournemouth's first league loss since April 28th.

I like this type of game. It's completely different than Conte or Mourinho before.

Hazard seems to be happy and fit after the Real Madrid rumors at the beginning of the season. No other player in the league has been involved in more goals than Hazard with his two goals and four assists.

Both clubs have home matches on September 15th. Chelsea hosts Cardiff City and Bournemouth hosts Leicester City.

Liverpool remain unblemished despite struggles.

Liverpool defeated Leicester City; 2-1, despite being shaky under pressure through a good part of the match. The Reds began the game on the front foot when Sadio Mane scored his league leading fourth goal in the 10th minute, just after Mohamed Salah missed an open net. Liverpool was enjoying the sights of King Power Stadium up until the 45th minute when Roberto Firmino headed a corner kick from James Milner for their second goal.

In Liverpool's win over Brighton last week; goalkeeper, Alisson was non-chalant with a clearance that almost costed them a goal. It happened again and Leicester's Rachid Ghezzal was all too content to make Alisson and Liverpool pay as they conceded their first goal of the season.

To be 100% honest, I'm really happy that it happened; because we don't have to wait for it now.

Manager, Jurgen Klopp seems confident that his goalkeeper will correct his clearance problems.

Leicester was in form coming into this match after beating Wolverhampton and Southampton. They were the better side throughout most of the second half.

Both squads hit the road after the break. Leicester visits Bournemouth and Liverpool has a crucial match at Wembley Stadium with Tottenham. Both games are on September 15th.

Watford rolls on. Knock Spurs from the unbeaten.

After an Abdoulaye Doucoure own goal in the 53rd minute, Watford feasted on set pieces with headers from Troy Deeney; (69') and Craig Cathcart; (76') for a 2-1 win at Vicarage Road. Watford puts the first blemish on Tottenham after their impressive win over Manchester United last week. It's the first Watford victory over Tottenham in the top flight since May of 1987 and their first time winning their first four league games since the start of the 1988-89 season. Watford is sitting pretty in third place behind Liverpool and Chelsea.

This loss continues the Spurs problem in staying consistent. It also illustrated its struggles with defending set pieces. They allowed 12 goals last year off of set pieces which was fourth highest in the league. Four headers have already been allowed this year.

Tottenham tries to get back on track with another Wembley Stadium home game against first place Liverpool. Watford tries to keep it going at home to Manchester United. Both games are on September 15th.
