Fresh off a huge win over Ottawa, British Columbia welcomes Montreal to BC Place in scenic Vancouver on Saturday night. The Lions destroyed the Redblacks 40-7 last week as the defence held Montreal’s Jonathan Jennings to just 16 first-half passing yards and QB Mike Reilly and wide receivers Bryan Burnham and Shaq Johnson led the offensive onslaught. Reilly, the league’s second-leading passer with 3,306 yards, completed 78 percent of his passes for 353 yards and two touchdowns. Burnham caught nine passes for 135 yards and one score. That puts Burnham over 1,000 yards receiving for the fourth consecutive season. Johnson had the best performance of his young career with 160 yards receiving on just three catches.

Lemar Durant added 65 yards on five receptions and John White carried the ball 17 times for 80 yards and a touchdown. The Lions will have it much tougher on Saturday when they face an Alouettes squad that just pulled off the biggest comeback victory in franchise history. Trailing 37-17 in the fourth quarter, Montreal QB Vernon Adams helped the Als score 21 unanswered points and win 38-37.

Adams threw touchdown passes to Chris Matthews, DeVier Posey, and the game-winner to Jake Wieneke with just six seconds remaining in the game. Adams is now fourth in the league in passing with 2,953 yards and 15 touchdowns.

The Alouettes are 4-1 in their last five games, which includes a 21-16 victory over BC back in Week 13. Adams went 18-of-25 for 232 yards and a touchdown and ran for two more scores to lead the winners. Running back William Stanback, the CFL’s fourth-leading rusher with 748 yards, ran for 133 yards on 15 carries in the Week 13 win.

Montreal is currently 7-5 and well on its way to a playoff spot. BC is 3-10 and has won just one of five home games this season.

Saturday’s match will prove to be interesting, as BC Lions will be out to prove that they can put up a battle against stronger opponents, such as Montreal – with the change in personnel and over-all improved play demonstrated in their last couple of games.
