Why Smackdown Live needs the Hardy's

For years fans have called for the return of the Hardy's to  WWE but various circumstances have kept them away.  When WWE announced that would be holding a draft for the current brand split the call for the Hardy's were heard again.  Due to them being signed to Impact Wrestling through February of 2017 we have yet to see them.  Now that their contracts have expired or soon to be expired the common assumption is that they will return home for one last run.

Since the brand split the biggest weakness of each show (not including the writers) has been the tag team division.  Confusing pairings such as Slater and Rhyno to lack of strong feuds has caused most people (myself included) to just not give a damn about either set of tag team titles or the division as a whole.  RAW has the potential in their roster to turn things around, Smackdown however currently does not.  The lack of talent outside of American Alpha and the Usos was clear from the moment Slater and Rhyno won the inaugural Smackdown tag team titles in August. Since that time WWE has had to use Orton and Wyatt as a means to get American Alpha over with the main crowd even though they are currently in a story of their own.  With the latest episode of Smackdown Live we can assume that Wrestlemania will feature the Usos vs American Alpha, the question is where does WWE go from there?

Do they bring up The Revival from NXT? It is an idea but not necessarily the right move. While I do agree that The Revival should be the next team to be called up to the main roster, bringing in the Hardy's who at this moment are one of the hottest tag teams in all of wrestling would elevate the division instantly.  Their Broken gimmick gives them the creative flexibility to work with any team while also helping the titles to gain some much need credibility.  There are younger teams on Smackdown that would benefit from having a team like the Hardy's to work with much like when the New Day worked with the Dudley Boys.  In the short term, WWE has nothing to lose and a lot to gain from the Broken brilliance that is Matt and Jeff Hardy.
