Joel Embiid

2016-17 Season: 20.2ppg, 7.8rpg, 2.1apg, 0.9spg, 2.5bpg, 3.8tov, 46.6 fg%, 36.7 3fg%

Joel Embiid is easily the biggest All-Star snub of the Eastern Conference. Embiid has been the catalyst behind the best season the Sixers have put together in 4 years and he’s doing it with flash. Embiid doesn’t just act like a star though, he also plays like one. The most impressive part of Embiid’s season is that he is making such a big impact while playing on a minutes restriction. The player that Embiid should have been chosen over on the East roster would be Paul Millsap.

Carmelo is still playing at an All-Star level despite a small dip in production.

Carmelo Anthony

2016-17 Season: 22.6ppg, 6.1rpg, 3.0apg, 0.9spg, 0.4bpg, 1.9tov, 43.4 fg%, 36.6 3fg%

Carmelo Anthony isn’t an all-star “snub” but if he had made the team it wouldn’t have been a surprise. Anthony has had a slight dip in production as the Knicks slog through another underwhelming season but he is still doing enough to have been considered for the All-Star roster. While Anthony no longer garners the superstar moniker he still has a big impact on every game. If Anthony would’ve replaced someone it would have also been Paul Millsap. It seemed like team success may have been the tie breaker when Millsap was tapped over Anthony and Embiid.
