Adventures with Adam: An O2 Fuel Mini Series

Part 1/6
I really am a sucker. I wish I wasn’t but sometimes I think I would fall for anything. Unfortunately, I’m the reason Instagram and Facebook created adds.
Socks with your dogs picture? Gave them as Christmas gifts.

Works greatest windshield scraper. Bought one... and it’s not.

So when I saw an add offering a FREE 6 week gym membership to anyone who loses 26 pounds, I knew I would pony up.
On March 8th, the first Friday of March break, I went to a consultation with Adam. Myself and three others sat as he pitched us on a program he felt great about. It would burn more fat but his team would also support us on our weight loss journey. In the end, we just have to lose the weight, surrender our before and after pictures, and he wouldreturn our money. Easy peasy... but it’s 26 pounds in 6 weeks.
Since I am presently training to do two half marathons in the spring, I thought the program might springboard my training. (No actual pun intended... honestly) I filled out the paperwork and made my deposit. What’s there to lose?
First off: sleep
My primary class choice is 515 am. Our instructor Emily is full of pep and encouragement but she knows none of us really want to be there. I managed to make 4/5 classes and by Friday I still hated waking up early. She has been very patient with me. I am no longer being called Colten and she appreciates my lack of grace and balance.
The classes are intense and there is constant movement. I am sweating more but I’m waiting for Monday to do my first weigh in. My knees don’t like me again but they will when they have to carry less. I also hate burpees and those stupid yoga balls.
Oh the one day I missed, I was able to make up by going to a later class. If you are wondering why I don’t do that every day, I’m with you. It went well but I really do not like Andrew. He seemed nice and all but drew my ire with one simple statement, “ Good job group. You’re done with a minute to spare. Let’s fill that minute with BURPEES.” In the words of Samuel L. Jackson
