Free Agency Frenzy III: The Lebron-Bosh-Melo Standoff
Alright, enough is enough! I cannot go the rest of the summer waiting on these guys to finally sign. As each day passes, it feels like more and more players are just waiting on Lebron to make The Decision: Part Deux! I have never seen so much riding on the destination of one player. Here is my breakdown:
Chris Bosh
If Lebron signs anywhere but Miami, Bosh is off to Houston. If Lebron returns to Miami, Riley may tell Bosh to go and sign with Houston. (Personally, I think Houston must feel like the geeky kid who is told maybe by the head cheerleader while she waits on the football captain.)
Carmelo Anthony
If Lebron signs in Cleveland, Melo ruturns to New York. If Lebron returns to Miami, Melo bounces to South Beach. If Lebron goes to L.A., Melo enjoys the West Coast.
Gordon Hayward
If Lebron signs anywhere but Cleveland, he will be the Cav's mistake of the summer.
Danny Granger and Josh McRoberts
If Lebron does not return to Miami, they may try to pull a Hedo. (Back in 2009 Hedo Turkoglu signed agreed to a deal in Portland but then went to Toronto when the Raptors offered him more money. Really, Portland owes us for that one.)
Dwyane Wade
If Lebron goes anywhere but Miami, he may enter a slight depression for leaving ALL of that money on the table. ($40 mil plus)
Pau Gasol
He seems to be waiting on an offer which will most likely come after Melo or Lebron sign somewhere.
Dan Gilbert
He has two letters waiting on Lebron; either Lebron is the King Prodigal Son returning to Cleveland or Lebron is Banished!
Corey Crewe
That's me! As soon as this stuff gets cleared up, I can move on and write about other stuff. I am sure this is Lebron's biggest concern but I am exhausted by the process. I would like to say there won't be a Free Agency Frenzy IV but I am sure the Rambo folks claimed the same thing.
