Adidas, Multiple Schools Commit Fraud

Word was released today that the FBI has arrested multiple NCAA assistant coaches, Chuck Person of Auburn and Lamont Evans of Oklahoma State, along with Adidas head of sports marketing Jim Gatto on charges of fraud and corruption. The FBI listed 4 specific schools, all of which use Adidas gear, Arizona, Auburn, Oklahoma State, and USC. Another school was not released in detail, but is located in Kentucky and has 22,000 students, which perfectly matches another Adidas school, Louisville

Charges claim that Gatto paid high level basketball recruits large amounts of money to sign with Adidas brand schools, and sign with Adidas later in their pro career. Reports claim that 5 Star Louisville commit Brian Bowen received 100,00 dollars from Adidas in exchange for his commitment to the Cardinals. It is expected that at least 2 other players received benefits for their commitment, and I would guess one of them is former 5 Star and now Auburn forward Mustapha Heron. Who left New England for a school that hasn't been to a NCAA Tournament in a decade, and was recruited by Person (now arrested).

Ten recruits in the 2018 ESPN100 recruiting rankings are committed to the 5 schools listed by the report. In 2017 the schools had 13 commits between them, including a top 3 player in Deandre Ayton.

I will update as more information comes, but recommend checking Twitter throughout the day
