Nick Newlin hadn’t heard of rugby league three years ago. He’s now heading to a World Cup with the USA Hawks.

Newlin played four sports as a kid – soccer, gridiron, baseball and basketball – but didn’t know about rugby league until late in life.

The prop is now getting set to play in the Hawks’ 2017 World Cup campaign. How does he feel about representing his country as a relative rookie?

“There’s not a word to describe it,” the 29-year-old said.
