5 NBA player who will have breakout seasons in 2017

The NBA season starts in 4 days. Players will be making there last minute tweaks to get ready for the season. Many players are working hard to prove themselves, and have an all star caliber season. Fans are looking for some players to breakout this season and become there teams all star. These are 5 players who could breakout this season.

1. D'Angelo Russell PG Los Angeles Laker

One of the top college players in 2015, the Lakers selected Russell with the second overall pick hoping that he would be there franchise player to turn the Lakers around and put them in the right direction. Russell had an okay season, but left many fans wondering whether or not he was the right player to build around. Now that Kobe is gone the Lakers are going to look for Russell to be the star of the team, and bring them back to getting championships. Things are looking up for Russell who is having a great preseason. Russell has a lot of potential, look for him to make reaches towards it in the 2016-2017 season.

 

2. Devin Booker SG Phoenix Suns

Considered to be the best shooter available in the 2015 draft, the Suns selected him with the 13th overall pick. Making his way into the starting lineup midway into the season Booker did nothing but impress. He averaged 17.4 points per game in 51 starts. Currently he is leading the NBA preseason in points with 21.5 points per game. The Phoenix Suns are looking for Booker to have a huge season this year. Expect great things from Devin Booker this season. 


3. Andrew Wiggins SG/SF Minnesota Timberwolves

The first overall pick in 2014 by the Cleveland Cavaliers, he was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves in a blockbuster deal sending Kevin Love to the Cavaliers. In his first pro season Wiggins averaged 16.9 pts per game, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game. He won rookie of the year in 2014. In his second season he got even better averaging 20.7 pts per game, 3.6 rebounds, and 2 assists a game. Now coming into his third season Andrew Wiggins is hoping to make the jump to become one of the best players in the NBA. Putting in a lot of work this off season, Wiggins hopes to become an all star and prove he is one of the best player in the NBA.


4. Julius Randle PF Los Angeles Lakers

Julius Randle had one of the highest celling's in the 2014 Draft. The Lakers selected him with the 7th overall pick. In his first pro game Randle broke his right tibia putting him out for the 2014-2015 season. Coming back in 2015 Randle showed his presence as a strong power forward. Not a huge scorer he averaged 11.3 points per game, with 10.2 rebound per game. This season Julius Randle hopes to continue his development and become a star in the NBA.

 

5. Harrison Barnes SF Dallas Mavericks

Now longer overshadowed by Steph Curry, Klay Thomphson, and Draymond Green, Harrison Barned should now being to separate himself as a top player in the NBA. A member of the USA team, Harrison Barnes averaged 11.7 points per game last season. Now on the Dallas Mavericks, Harrison Barnes should excel and score many more points then he did last season. He will be a starter this season, look forward to seeing Harrison Barnes progress as a star in the NBA.
