During the first round, Condit has to make sure to stay out of range of Robbie Lawler’s power boxing. Which is a lead right hook followed up by straight left and a left uppercut if his opponent ducks his head to attempt a takedown. Condit can stay out of range of Robbie Lawler’s power boxing by throwing a good amount of front and/or oblique kicks. This will enable Condit to stay out of striking range since Lawler will have to take a step back to make sure it does not hurt him. By the time he starts to move forward to use his power boxing Condit will already be out of range. Once the first round ends, Condit has to start applying constant pressure to Robbie Lawler for the next 2 to 3 rounds because Robbie Lawler tends to slow down his activity and/or pace in order to preserve his cardio throughout the fight. Condit can apply constant pressure by constantly moving forward and throwing his favorite combination which is a straight right followed up by a left hook.
