Rumour Mill: Calgary Thinking Of Trading Wideman

Calgary Flame's Dennis Wideman has been a healthy scratch lately, speculating that the team are probably planning to put him on the trading block.
Word has it that the Flames are looking to trade Wideman because of his poor performance and financial issues.
I prefer to think otherwise.
You'll have a hard time convincing me that the cross-checking incident last season doesn't have anything to do with the Flames thinking of getting rid of Wideman.
As you all know, Wideman cross-checked an official last season during a game.
I'm not 100 percent sure, but I think Wideman was initially suspended for 20 games. After an appeal, the suspension was cut to 10 games.
What's worse, the official that Wideman cross-check is probably not going to officiate no more because of his injuries.
As for me, I don't care what happens to Wideman. I hope he sits out all year. I think he's despicable.
