Champions League - GW 1 Predictions (13th and 14th/09/16)
Hi Sports fans!
After last years thrilling Champions league Final Real Madrid came out as Champions of Europe for the eleventh time. This year it will be good with Pep taking Charge of City and the players performances. This year also welcomes Leicester to the Champions league for the first time. This year will be full of competition and will supply a lot of eye candy for supporters.
PSG VS Arsenal: With PSG knocked out in last years quarter-finals against Manchester City and Arsenal losing out to Barca the round before, the teams both did relatively well. Arsenal have been in this competition for 17 straight years now and not once have they been knocked out before the last 32. PSG are also in this competition every year so both teams have experience in the competition. I think PSG will come out on top in the first round with a 2-1 victory.
Ludogrets VS Basel: The two sides have met once before in this competition in 2013. Ludogrets finished rock bottom but Basel finished 2nd in that group. These two teams are probably not the best in the competition. I think the first leg will finish 0-0.
Dynamo Kyiv VS Napoli: Dynamo Kyiv lost out to Manchester City in lat years round of sixteen whilst Napoli were knocked out in the group stages. It should be a good game but i think the first leg will finish as a 1-1 draw.
Benfica VS Besiktas: The battle of the B's will be a good one. Champions of Portugal VS Champions of Turkey. It will be a good one to watch but I think the first leg will be won by the Portugese side.
Barcelona VS Celtic: The two sides meet recently during the pre-season in the international cup. They we're also in the same champions league group two years ago. The last two games have had seven goals so it should be a good one. With Messi out for Barca and Griffiths out for Celtic, it makes the game tougher for both teams. For the first leg i think Barca will come out on top and go the Scotland with a 2-0 advantage.
Manchester City VS Mönchengladbach:
So it's Guardiolas first game in charge of Manchester City and it's against old Bundesliga foes Borussia Mönchengladbach. The two sides meet last year in massive goalscoring games which City managed to get a draw out of. City are full f confidence after beating Mourinho's United and that will give them the umpth to beat them. I thik the first leg will finish 1-0 to Pep City.
Bayern Munich VS FC Rostov: After Pep Guardiola left for City, two-time champions league winner Carlos Ancelotti takes over hoping to do better than Pep. Bayern will be looking to sweep through any team they come across after last years unlucky exit in the semi's left Munich heart-broken. New comers from Russia FC Rostov, will probably be hoping to try and scrape something out of the game. I don't think Rostov will get anything out of Munich and will head to Russia after losing 3-0.
PSV VS Atletico Madrid: The two sides met in last years champions league quarter-finals. It was a very close game that was nil-nil in both legs and was taken to penalties, in which last years runners-up Athletico Madrid. If PSV can do the same as they did last year then their is a possibility that the could win both legs.
