Deli Ali charged with Violent Conduct

Dele Alli has been charged by the FA for punching West Brom midfielder Jacob in the face. The incident took place in the 26th minute in the one all draw between the two sides at white heart lane last night. Referee Mike Jones did not appear to see the incident but 20-year-old Alli could face a three-match suspension if found guilty of violent conduct, a punishment which would rule him out for the rest of the season. Off-the-ball incidents which are not seen at the time by the match officials are referred to a panel of three former elite referees. Each referee panel member will review the video footage independently of one another to determine whether they consider it a sending-off offence. For retrospective action to be taken, and an FA charge to follow, the decision of the panel must be unanimous. Alli has until 6pm on Wednesday, April 27, to reply to the charge.
