49ers acquire K'Waun Williams

The San Francisco 49ers signed CB K’Waun Williams to a one-year deal.
The 25-year old spent two seasons with the Cleveland Browns where he had 77 tackles, 2 sacks, 3 forced fumbles and defensed 10 passes.
In 2016, K’Waun Williams suffered an ankle injury in training camp and was released by the Browns. He missed all of last season while recovering from surgery.
K’Waun Williams is expected to become San Francisco’s nickelback, supporting starting cornerbacks Tramaine Brock and Jimmie Ward. San Francisco’s assistant coach Jeff Hafley, who recruited Williams to the University of Pittsburgh, likes his cover skills, foot burst and ability to change directions.
The Miami Dolphins, New York Jets and Detroit Lions also offered a contract but K’Waun Williams chose to sign with the 49ers. He looks like a low-risk high-reward signing, as we’ve seen many times during the Jim Harbaugh era.
