Super Bowl Hot Take

Okay, we're about 3 hours from game time. It has been an exciting week and as a Football Guy, being able to compartmentalize my thoughts onto this site has been a struggle. But as kickoff approaches, my hands are twitching so much that I just decided to my put my laptop in front of them and let some words flow out. So here we go.. Super Bowl 52 Hot Take

I was just reading a story posted by ESPN talking about a rumor going around that both Brady and Belichick will retire after this game. But I'm going a step further with this. This is not going to be their final games, but it will be their final games with the Patriots.

Here is my take: Brady and Bill - The "I'm Coming Home" Stories. Cue the music! "I'm coming home, I'm coming home. Tell the word.." blah blah blah

This is what is going to happen. What was Brady's favorite team growing up? The Niners. Who snubbed him in the Draft multiple times? The Niners. What team did his protege just go to? The Niners.

Tom Brady is going to demand a trade to San Francisco so he can play out his final seasons for his hometown team. In doing so, he is going to force the organization to kick Jimmy G to the curb, at least temporarily. Tom said he's probably going to play until around 45, so that means Jimmy will only have to ride the bench for around 5 more years - that's not bad Jimmy!

This is a perfect scenario in Tom Brady's eyes. Being able to play for his idol Joe Montana's team, while at the same time having a sense of control and power over Jimmy G. You can see that he doesn't get that same high from verbally abusing Brian Hoyer.

Okay, now is Bill's turn. Bill is going to return to New York to coach the Giants, while doing a similar "kick him to the curb" move just like Brady. The Giants just recently hired Pat Shurmur, but it is pretty evident that the G-Men were not too sold on this move. It really appeared like they were trying to actively seduce one of Belichick's little robots, Patricia and McDaniels. But they decided on other jobs - the Lions and Colts. Why? Why would either of those guys turn down the city of New York? Oh, I know why - because Bill already claimed it for himself. Pat Shurmur is just a nice figurehead that will either be forced out or graciously step down when Bill goes marching into the Giants' front office.

And then next season, the Giants and 49ers will meet in the NFC Championship game and worlds will fully collide. Meanwhile, Brian Hoyer will be leading the Patriots to a stellar 5-11 record, as Brady and Bill laugh maniacally at the chaos they have unleashed on the new NFL....
