NHL Projections: Washington Capitals Lineup
The Washington Capitals ran away with the Eastern Conference and President's Trophy last year. They were absolutely dominant all season long. I do not expect the Capitals to be as dominant this season, but I do expect them to be very good and contend for a division title. The Caps have a solid lineup from top to bottom, and there are not any glaring weaknesses. Their forward group is star-studded, their defense is rock solid, and their goaltending is top-notch. Washington certainly looks like one of the best teams in the NHL going into this season. Alex Ovechkin, Nick Backstrom, T.J. Oshie, and Justin Williams lead the offense, John Carlson, Brooks Orpik, and Matt Niskanen lead the defense, and Braden Holtby is the rock between the pipes. This team is very very good, and here what the lineup is expected to be opening night.
