Sam Bradford Now a Viking

With more details on the trade to come out later as to what the Eagles exactly received, QB Sam Bradford was just traded to the Minnesota Vikings this morning.  This "solves" two problems with two different teams regarding their quarterback situations, as the Vikings now have a "solution" to the Teddy Bridgewater injury, and the Eagles quarterback depth chart is much easier to solve.

Starting with how this affects the Eagles, it not only gives them (likely) a few draft picks, but it also gets rid of a bad locker room presence.  In the offseason, Bradford demanded a trade when the Eagles selected QB Carson Wentz, which shows poor character, poor leadership, and a lot of whining/being spoiled his entire life.  Now, the Eagles have seasoned backup QB Chase Daniel and Wentz as the main quarterbacks, and from what I've heard it looks like Wentz will be the starter, and Daniels the backup.  That makes more sense to me, as the Eagles are my second-worst NFC team in my team rankings.  In other words, might as well give the rookie a chance to show he was worth the mega trade with the Browns.

For the Vikings, this shows that they were not comfortable at all starting QB Shaun Hill for 16 games, although they traded for the most injury-riddled quarterback north of Tony Romo.  Bradford has played sparingly throughout his career, and has proven time and time again when on the field that he was not worth being selected #1 overall, or even in the first two days of the NFL Draft (which contain 3 rounds, for those who don't know).  Bradford is mediocre, and he is better than Shaun Hill I think, but until proven otherwise, he has not solved the Vikings quarterback dilemma (which explains my air quotes from earlier).  I know the Vikings clearly think he can make them a playoff team, but I think they are despite Bradford.  The main positive for the Vikings here though, is the trade shows that the Vikings are not willing to go away quietly this season, but they still have an uphill battle to overcome the Packers.
