Milan v Juventus

Che una partido!

The match on Saturday night at the famous San Siro in Milan, saw Juventus hold Milan with a 0-2 win for Ronaldo's team. Manager Allegri stuck to his wide plan, using Alex Sandro and Cristiano Ronaldo on the left to expose the weakness of Gattuso's men's covering.

The match started at a high insensity, with Mario Mandzukic's header helping league leaders Juve to lead after eight minutes in Milan. The perfect cross from Alex Sandro after a link up with Ronaldo on the left allowed Mandzukic to use his strength to get between Milan's defence.

Higuain had the chance to level from the penalty spot but saw his low effort tipped onto the post by Wojciech Szczesny. Cristiano Ronaldo was giving Szczesny advice on where Higuain places his penalties at the post, after their four seasons as a striking partnership at Madrid.

Cristiano Ronaldo settled the points in the 81st minute, before Higuain lost control, picking up two quick yellow cards and raging at the referee.

First the Argentina striker was booked for a foul on Juve defender Medhi Benatia, with his second coming moments later for dissent as he shouted in the match official's face.

Higuain's frustration was from his missed penalty, lack of opportunity despite having perfect positions and runs behind Chiellini, and having to face the club that left him after Ronaldo's arrival in the north of Italy.

The Turin club, league champions in each of the past seven seasons, are six points clear of Napoli and unbeaten at the top of Serie A, while Milan are fifth, 13 points behind.
