Remember all the goaltending and can't find a way to win struggles were all occurring earlier in the season? Well, the Calgary Flames have won seven games in a row, and their record is now 36-26-4 with 76 points. They are in comfortable position for the first wild card in the west, but they are now only two points back of the Edmonton Oilers for the second spot in the Pacific Division.

The Flames are also making fires bigger for opponents on this winning streak. Could you imagine a possible Calgary vs Edmonton possible first round matchup? That would be very wild. During the win streak, they have scored 26 goals (179 overall this season) and given up 15 goals (182 overall this season).

Mikael Backlund leads the Flames in points with 47 and has 20 goals and 27 assists. Johnny Gaudreau has 13 goals and 31 assists so far this season. Sean Monahan has 21 goals and 22 assists so far this season. Rookie Matthew Tkachuk has 12 goals and 30 assists.

Dougie Hamilton leads all defenseman on the Flames with 41 points. Chad Johnson and Brian Elliott have split time between the pipes this season, but the offensive juggernaut is starting to help them out a little bit.

Johnson's record is 18-13-1 with a 2.54 GAA and a .913 save percentage, along with three shutouts. Elliott's record is 18-13-3 with a 2.65 GAA and a .905 save percentage.

Calgary is ranked 13th in the NHL on the power play with a 19.8% rate. They are ranked 18th on the penalty kill with a 80.4% rate.
