Cavs Survive Celtics Rally

Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports

When the Cleveland Cavaliers thought a 20-point third-quarter lead was safe until it almost wasn't. The Boston Celtics cut it to 1 a couple of times in the fourth-quarter, but the Cavs prevailed 124 to 118. When the Cavs were up 120 to 118 with under 20 seconds remaining, Jae Crowder attempted a three pointer, but he missed.

Richard Jefferson sealed the deal with two made free throws. When the Cavs were struggling to score in the fourth, they turned to Kyrie Irving, who scored 32 points and also had 12 assists. He left the game with an injury late in the fourth and he didn't return.

Lebron James had 23 points and 11 assists. Kevin Love had 30 points and 15 rebounds. Isaiah Thomas was the leading score for the Celtics with 31 points. Avery Bradley had 23 points.

These teams will play each other 2 more times this season.
