Sidney Crosby scored the game winning goal with 21.1 seconds left in overtime and lifted the Penguins to a 4 to 3 over the Winnipeg Jets. Evgeni Malkin scored the first goal in the first-period for Pittsburgh. Crosby picked up his 1000th point on an assist to Chris Kunitz's goal later in the period. Crosby received a standing ovation from the crowd.

Patrik Laine scored for the Jets in the second-period. Paul Postma tied the game for the Jets in the third-period. Dustin Byfuglien scored later in the period to give the Jets the lead. Phil Kessel tied the game on a power-play goal with 6:05 remaining in regulation.

Marc-Andre Fleury made some key saves in the third period and in overtime, including stopping Nikolaj Ehlers on a fast break. Fleury has 44 saves overall and it might have been his last home start as a Pittsburgh Penguin. Connor Hellebuyck stopped 35 shots for the Jets.

The Penguins also were down to 4-defenseman in the game because of injuries to Justin Schultz and Olli Maatta. These two teams will play each other one more time this season.
