Golden State Warriors Training Camp Preview

A record setting regular season of 73 wins and 9 losses last season means nothing without a championship. They blew a 3 to 1 series lead to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals. The unanimous MVP Steph Curry, played awful in the NBA Finals.

Draymond Green was suspended for Game 5 of the NBA Finals and Andrew Bogut didn't play in Games 6 and 7 because of an injury. Kevin Durant signed with the Warriors in the off-season. However, they lost key role players like: Leandro Barbosa, Festus Ezeli, Marreese Speights, Andrew Bogut, and Harrison Barnes.

Is Durant actually worth 5 of those role players? In ways yes, because he is another scoring weapon on offense. In ways no, because they lose key big men to rebound and be rim protectors.

How will Durant fit in with Thompson, Curry, and Green knowing their is only one basketball for everyone? The Warriors are clearly going to be the hunted once again this season. Despite not being the champions, they have more pressure to win than the Cleveland Cavaliers.

They need to find a way to be physical with other teams because that is Golden State's one weakness. You can score all you want, but can you stop your opponent when it matters?

Projected Starting Lineup: (C) Draymond Green (PF) Kevin Durant (SF) Andre Iguodala (SG) Klay Thompson (PG) Steph Curry.

Key Players off the bench: (F) David West, (C) JaVale McGee, (G) Shaun Livingston, and (G) Elliot Williams.

Golden State will open the regular season on October 25th when they host the San Antonio Spurs.
