Sheary Scores Twice in McDavid vs Crosby Battle

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

Connor McDavid and Sidney Crosby would be playing against each other and they were supposed to steal the spotlight, but I guess Conor Sheary didn't get the memo. Sheary scored two goals, including the game winner with 1:42 remaining in the third-period.

He also scored the lone Pittsburgh goal in the first-period. Jordan Eberle and Patrick Maroon scored goals for the Oilers in the first-period.

In the second period, Jordan Eberle scored his second goal of the game for the Oilers. Carl Haeglin scored for the Penguins.

In the third period, Phil Kessel passed the puck to Evgeni Malkin, who tapped it in with one hand on the stick and the game was tied at 3.

Matt Murray made 25 saves for the Penguins. Cam Talbot made 27 saves for the Oilers.

Connor McDavid would assist on all 3 Edmonton goals. Crosby didn't record a point on the night, but the better team won.

These teams will play each other 1 more time this season.
