Paul George : The Real Deal
Paul George is positively a top-ten player in this league. For a long while, I was hemming and hawing as to whether or not the Pacer forward was in the conversation amongst the NBA's elite, and deeming him worthy of a mega-contract extension that would be in the neighborhood of $200 million. After watching his close to the regular season, and then his first two games against LeBron and the Cavs, I'm sold. At 6'9", the 26-year-old can do it all. He is the focal point of the Pacer offense, creating shots for not only himself, but also for his teammates. Perhaps more impressively, George also has the defensive prowess to guard the oppositions best wing scorer.
About a month ago I was skeptical about the idea of the Celtics mortgaging their future for Paul George. Now, I wouldn't think twice about doing so. And I bet the Celtics now, too, wish they had pulled the trigger.
