The Ins & Outs Of The Kyrie Irving & Isaiah Thomas Trade

This is the biggest blockbuster trade of the off season so far. The swap of two superstars. Kyrie Irving, and Isaiah Thomas.

Well who is the real winner in the trade?

Kyrie Irving wanted out of Cleveland since last month, I really didn't think he would get his way, but he did. And the Cavs landed some tremendous value in return for the superstar.

The biggest key in this trade is that draft pick of the Brooklyn Nets. It could possibly be the number one pick in next years draft. That is a lot of leverage to have as you seen over the years, teams have been trading the house for lottery picks.

To me the biggest winner are the Cavs & Kyrie. The biggest loser is Isaiah Thomas. He is going to have to play the same role as Kyrie but even less because he is so small. He is going to have to swallow his ego, and let Lebron be Lebron. If Kyrie doesn't end up signing an extension with the Celtics then it could be a loss for the Celtics as well, but with the team they have there right now I don't see that happening.

The Celtics leap frog over the Cavs with this move in my opinion. Kyrie Irving, and Gordon Hayword is a pretty nice 1-2 combo to work with, with many role players meshed in Boston that know how to play team basketball.

We will see how the draft pick turns out next year. Great trade for both sides in the long run, not much short term for the Cavs this year, especially if Lebron doesn't return. But they are trying every possible for that to happen. I expect another trade to occur with the Cavs to acquire another all star to help convince Lebron to stay home.
