Lakers Future All Stars

With a look into the future of Laker rooks in the summer league, I can't help but remain highly optimistic and excited Even after a slight disappointing performance of the team, we had the opportunity to glimpse what the No. 2 overall pick, D'Angelo Russell, and a glimpse of what he can do on the court.

Russell seems focused and determined to become an elite player, but there is plenty of work to be done. He has the time, youth and capability to become a very deadly player. When speaking to the media, D'Angelo speaks with a clear, focused and conscious mindset. He knows his errors and where his game needs work. I like this kids future. I see a Steph Curry/James Harden combo with his shooting, ball handling, court vision and high Basketball I.Q.

We also saw a long awaited return of Julius Randall. He was a little rusty, but very aggressive and on the right track back. Being away from the game for so long and unable to do anything... on the court with the ball is equivalent of blood in the water for a shark. It  feeds his hunger and aggression.

The gamble and risk of Robert Upshaw looks like it will pay out and be a steal. The game against Okafor and Towns, Upshaw put up some fight and managed to hold his own.

The spark and excitement of the summer came from last season's surprise "diamond in the rough" Jordan Clarkson. Continuing where he left off during the regular season, I see focus, aggression, youth, excitement, and potential for great things in the future.

Someone needs to step up and become a leader, and guide the team back to the top. There needs to be a strong bond between one another to gain that trust and backing of each other, like brothers, in and out of the Staples Center. When things get tough that's when you need your teammates to be more like family than coworkers. All in all I think this could become a "bad boys piston" type team in the future, for LA and the Laker fans that wouldn't be such a bad thing. They did win 2 championships and were always playoff bound.
