THE MEN OF TROY ARE BACK

The Football season is upon us and USC will be unleashed

I had the opportunity to visit the USC campus and attend a live practice sessions with the Football team. It was a hot and sunny day, but you could see the determination and focus on these kids. They had a fast paced scrimmage with full pads, offense vs defense, and every play was handled with passion and aggression. Any play broken up by the defense the sideline would errupt, but for the offense any play successfully completed was followed by an immediate no-huddle play. These intervals were anywhere from 10 - 15 seconds between each down.

KEY PLAYERS:

CODY KESSLER

Awards: Heisman / Maxwell / Walter Camp / Davey O'Brian and Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award

ADOREE JACKSON

Awards: Maxwell / Walter Camp / Chuck Bednarik / Bronko Nagurski / Paul Hornung

JUJU SMITH

Awards: Fred Biletnikoff / Maxwell Awards

SU'A CRAVENS

Awards: Chuck Bednarik / Bronko Nagurski / LOTT Impact / Jim Thorpe

Damien Mama, Zack Banner and Tight End

The 2 big line men protecting Cody from the sides. When these 2 are out there, they create a wall that is impenetrable, giving plenty of time and space for the Q.B. in the pocket or creating a path for the run game. Strength and power isn't enough to describe their abilty, imagine having 2 Hulks, as they are always quick to the assignment.

Awards: Vince Lombardi / Rotary

Leading up to the season there remains a huge gap in the tight end position. Currently it looks like Bryce Dixon has successfully appealed his case from an undisclosed - student - conduct issue and might make a return to fill the void. While no official report is in, we also wait on Jalen Cope Fitzpatrick ' s academic results from summer school to see if he will qualify to play.

Best Case Scenario:

If one or both do qualify, having in the line up will create a positive impact. Changing the dynamics and bringing much needed strength and depth to the team's offense.

The team will be fully stacked and ready to compete

After serving a sentence of 4 years probation and being docked 30 scholarships, the Trojans are free!

In 2010, USC was penalized for "Gifting" certain athletes in order to persuade them to bring their talents to USC, Reggie Bush was among the star athletes. Either way, his athleticism and performance was worthy of the Heisman trophy. The Trojans beat Ohio in the BCS bowl rightfully so. Why remove a years success of hard work, dedication, focus and effort for a gifting mistake? The players had to run, throw, catch, kick, tackle and stop the ball, they physically had to win. A gift wasn't going to do all that. I mean if it were steroids or a real crime I understand, but a gift? In my opinion the punishment and ruling was unjust and over exaggerated. "Bunch of haters" if you ask me!

USC IS MORE THAN A SCHOOL, IT IS A TRADITION

Even with all the troubles and tribulations the fans have remained supportive for the Trojans. Also, since the ban some of top F.B. players from around the country have come in, and stuck with the organization to fight hard and win.

Noticeable Players;

Matt Barkley, Robert Woods, Marqise Lee, Javorious Allen, Nelson Agholor, Silas Redd, Matt Kalil, Leonard Williams

I thank you and look forward with excitement to the future and revival of the USC TROJANS. FIGHT ON!
